Dr. Benjamin Lewis, a foot and ankle specialist, has joined the Adventist Health Consolidated Medical Staff and is caring for patients at Kings Foot and Ankle Center in Hanford as well as Adventist Health / Community Care clinics in the area.

Dr. Lewis knows all too well how it feels to be in excruciating pain. He suffered his first broken arm at the age of 3 after tripping in his front yard. That was the first of many injuries. When he began playing sports, he broke three more bones in his arm, suffered two broken legs and had two knee surgeries and two shoulder surgeries.

“The nurses would get my file and would be surprised by the number of injuries I had,” he says.

While undergoing many treatments and rehab sessions, Dr. Lewis was inspired by the physicians and health care workers who helped him and decided he too wanted to heal others and get them back to a productive and active life.

Dr. Lewis earned an Associate in Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Integrated Studies from Utah Valley University, where he graduated Cum Laude.

He attended medical school at Barry University, Miami Shores, in Florida, where he earned a doctorate of podiatric medicine. He then completed residency training at White Memorial Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he focused on forefoot and rear foot reconstructive surgery, including diabetic foot care and limb salvage. In 2012, he independently ran a post-operative clinic, where he offered wound care and general podiatry services.

Dr. Lewis grew up in Springville, Utah – an area he says is similar to the Central Valley.

“Because Ben grew up in a small town, he understands small town medicine,” says Dr. Charles Craft, founder of Kings Foot and Ankle Center. “He’s really committed to a career as a foot specialist and a career here in Hanford, which means a lot to me.”

In his free time, Dr. Lewis enjoys playing tennis and golf and engaging in outdoor activities.

He’s fluent in Spanish and will be available at the Kings Foot and Ankle Center, 806 W. 7th Street in Hanford, with a phone number of 559-584-5196 and at Community Care clinics.
