Holaday, a former Navy Master Chief, replaced former Tiger Athletic Director Ryan Tos this past summer and says he’s looking forward to the job. Tos took on a more high profile job with the CIF.

Holiday isn’t exactly a new face around Tiger Town. The 43-year-old Navy veteran has coached at LHS for the past four years, the last year as the Tigers varsity offensive coordinator for a team that went 11-1 last year and won the West Yosemite League title.

Holiday spent the last three years in the school’s NJ ROTC program where he was an instructor and helped instill in young minds the Navy way of thinking. His duties included teaching, flag detail and teaching the kids to march.

“I love it,” said Holiday of his NJ ROTC experience. “It was a great experience and a great transition from active duty to retirement. I still got to wear the uniform during the week and teach young kids of Lemoore High School.”

It was always his dream to coach. “When I retired from the military I dreamt of becoming a high school football coach. When that came true, the next step was getting into administration, maybe as an athletic director. When the situation presented itself, I thought I would apply.”

He probably won’t get to coach anymore. There’s just too much to do. “I will miss the coaching aspect of it,” he said. “I knew that going into this. Right now my coaching career is over. I actually love this new job and I’m very excited about the future here.

“I’m learning so much every day. My goal is to keep the high tradition of Lemoore High School athletics that my predecessors set here,” he said. “I want to keep up the high tradition of sports. This is a great sports town.”

Holaday and wife Lorie have three children, one of whom attends Lemoore High School.
