Lemoore hopes to rebound this Friday when the Tigers host Buchanan High School in Tiger Stadium.
The Tigers led the Cougars in the second quarter 17-14 on the strength of a 30-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Logan Ahlin to Reggie Davis. The Cougars’ Sean Kuenzinger responded with his second touchdown pass of the night on a 40-yard pass to Coltin Velasquez for a 21-14 lead that Clovis would not relinquish.
In the third quarter the Tigers lost Ahlin on a hard hit that forced him from the game. Then Clovis took advantage of a Lemoore fumble in the end zone following a bad snap, taking a 27-17 lead. According to Tiger Coach Shannon Pulliam, Ahlin suffered a concussion and will be out of the Lemoore lineup for two to three weeks.
In the fourth quarter Clovis scored again when Dyllon Hudec came down with an interception which led to a 6-yard touchdown run.
After Clovis took an early 7-0 lead in the first, Lemoore’s Josh Roa responded with a 29-yard field goal to cut the gap to 7-3 with about 11 minutes left in the second quarter.
Lemoore’s Roger Wilson blocked a Cougar kick in the end zone and Rogoberto Carrillo pounced on it for a quick Lemoore touchdown as Lemoore took a the lead at 10-7 in the second.
