Lemoore Police Officer Osvaldo Maldonado was honored Friday at the 19th Annual Hanford Chamber of Commerce Public Safety Appreciation Luncheon for his work in Lemoore. He was hired in August 2013 and according to the Chamber’s recognition of him, he is a “talented officer whose commitment to the department is demonstrated daily by his work productivity, efficiency, attention to detail, and excellent attendance.

Maldonado has earned many commendations from both the department and citizens of Lemoore. He was named the Lemoore Police Department Employee of the Month in April, 2015 for fielding 145 calls for service and making 16 arrests. He also played a major role in the recovery of several firearms.

In April, Maldonado recovered a loaded Colt revolver underneath the driver’s seat of a suspect he stopped that had a suspended license. Later that same month, the officer stopped a man that may have been wanted on a homicide charge. While doing a search he found a weapon in the vehicle.

He also conducted a stop of suspicious suspects and later identified the parties as being involved in a shooting. Three firearms and ammunition were located within the suspect vehicle.

He has also served as a recruitment training officer for the police academy, and Neighborhood Watch coordinator.
