West Hills Lemoore took another step in the right direction Saturday night in Lemoore when it easily beat visiting Porterville 88-45. The win improved the Golden Eagles CVC mark to 5-2, good enough for second place in the conference. The 7-0 Rams are currently two games ahead of both West Hills Lemoore and College of the Sequoias.
The closest the Eagles have come to a win against the Rams was during the West Hills Golden Eagle Classic when WHCL fell in the title game 75-73.
Against Porterville the Eagles struck first and never looked back, jumping out to a 28-13 first period lead and a 42-29 halftime advantage.
Samantha Earl, Jordon Lassiter and Michelle Brown combined for 57 of the Eagles 88 points in the victory. Earl had 20 points while Lassiter chipped in with 18 and Brown had 18 points.
West Hills kept rolling in the second half, building a 67-40 advantage by the end of the third period.
The win also improved the Eagles overall record to 16-7.
