On Saturday the 11th seeded Golden Eagles will open the state tournament with a game at Santa Rosa Junior College, seeded 6th overall in Northern California. Santa Rosa is a member of the Big 8 Conference and posted an 18-11 record in its conference, finishing fourth overall.
West Hills win at Taft assured the Eagles of second place in their own conference as they head into the community college playoffs, The higher-ranked seed will host the opening playoff game. The seeds were determined on Monday, Feb. 22.
San Francisco City College and Fresno City College grabbed the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds respectively. The Golden Eagles, should they get to the finals of their bracket, will have to face the Rams once again, a team they've lost to three times this season, including twice in the Central Valley Conference.

For the Golden Eagles, it was their most successful season to date in only four years of existence. The Lady Eagles beat everybody in their conference with the exception of Fresno City College, which will probably go into the Northern California Community College playoffs with a No. 1 ranking. The Lady Rams currently hold onto the top spot in the rankings with their 26-3 mark.
WHC Lemoore is No. 13in the statewide poll, followed by No. 14 College of the Sequoias.
On Saturday against Taft, Jordan Lassiter led all Eagles with 17 points followed closely behind by Tiffany Smith’s 15 points. Michelle Brown also chipped in with 15 points as the Golden Eagles led from start to finish, amassing a dominating 47-16 first-half lead.
Kim Alfors pulled down 14 rebounds and scored 10 points while Brown hit the boards for 16 rebounds.
