The Tigers scraped together seven hits in Thursday’s game to beat the Pioneers. The winning margin came in the second inning when Lemoore scored five times to erase a Pioneer 4-1 advantage.
The Pioneers tied the game in the fourth inning with a run, but the Tigers returned the favor to score one more time in their half of the fourth and then held on to win.
On Tuesday, Austin Murietta went two for three, but it wasn’t enough as the Tigers dropped a 10-0 decision to Mt. Whitney. Pioneer bats exploded for 12 hits on the day and their pitching held Lemoore to just four hits.
Lemoore fell to 2-4 in the West Yosemite League and 12-7 overall.
Lemoore’s softball team has a home game Tuesday against Redwood on Thursday (April 28) and hope to make up a game after its surprising 10-1 loss to Hanford West on Thursday. The Tigers fell to 2-5 in the WYL and 9-15 overall.
It wasn’t Lemoore’s only loss that week. The Tigers were also blanked by Hanford in Tuesday’s game in Hanford. The Bullpups fired a no-hitter at Lemoore and wound up 10-0 winners over the Tigers.
