Glick will take over the Lemoore Parks and Recreation Department with a renewed emphasis on more than just parks and recreation. According to Welsh, Glick will be responsible for transitioning and building a Community Services Department, which will encompass Parks & Recreation, development of a public arts program, and will serve as the liaison to numerous regional, civic and service organizations.
Glick survived a rigorous open and competition recruitment process to earn the position, and he brings over 17 years of public service experience in municipal parks and recreation that Welsh says will greatly benefit Lemoore.
Throughout his career with the City of Visalia, he has held various rolls in management and has served on numerous community boards. He currently serves as the Recreation Supervisor for Visalia.
“In addition to his technical expertise, Jason brings with him a community-focus mindset and desire for continuous improvement and excellence, and will lead Lemoore into a new period of excellence for the department and the City” stated Welsh.
Glick earned a Bachelor’s degree in History from California State University, Fresno, and has a brother who works in recreation in Reedley. “My brother works in parks and rec,” said Glick. “I would go there sometimes with him and thought that (parks and rec) looked fun.”
The longtime recreation specialists also played football and basketball at Mt. Whitney High School in Visalia. He is married with a wife Kimber and a 12-year-old son Carter.
