“It’s scheduled to hit 111 when our volunteers are supposed to be setting up,” said MacMurdo. “It wouldn’t be safe for anyone involved.”
On Wednesday, the temperature in Lemoore reached 109 degees and was supposed to hit 109 again on Thursday, and then 111 on Friday.
Lemoore’s Arbor event, which features a musical group every Friday night from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. isn’t the only outdoor activity cancelled. For the first time in 27 years Old Town Clovis cancelled its Friday night farmers’ market.
The heat will continue to permeate the Valley the rest of this week and next.
