While the candidates field in the Lemoore City Council race seems to be increasing, there are other races in Lemoore, including an election for two seats on the Lemoore Elementary School Board and two positions on the Lemoore High School Board of Trustees.

The big surprise is that longtime high school board member Kathy Neves has decided to exit the board, after 16 years.

Currently, in the elementary district, the District 2 Area is represented by Myra Joette Sperlich, who as of last week hadn’t picked up papers to run again. One application has been filed for the seat, from Myeisha Neal.

In District Area 5, longtime board member Stephen Todd currently holds that seat. No paperwork has been submitted yet by any candidate.

At the high school, 16-year board member Neves has decided to step down after an impressive tenure on the board. Already, Stratford’s Jason Orton has filed to run for her Area 4 seat on the board.

The other seat up for grabs belongs to John Droogh, who has already submitted papers to run again.

Declaration of Candidacy can be submitted between July 18 and August 12. Information updates can be found at the Kings County website.
