Doctors have so much great information to share with patients, but oftentimes, office visits aren’t long enough. To give community members more time with local physicians, Adventist Health is offering four different opportunities to spend an evening with a doctor for free.
“Evenings with a Doctor” will be held at 7 p.m. in the Adventist Health BEC Building Auditorium (Business and Education Center), 1100 W. Lacey Blvd. in Hanford, Calif., on Oct. 24, 25, 26 and 27.
Speakers and topics are as follows:
- Monday, Oct. 24: Healthy Choices for a Healthy Colon – Dr. Nicholas Reiber, a pathologist at Adventist Medical Center – Hanford, will speak to the community about the importance of a healthy colon.
- Tuesday, Oct. 25: Exercise, “You Have to Keep Moving!” – Dr. Nicholas Urrutia, a Hanford family medicine physician, will discuss the importance of staying active.
- Wednesday, Oct. 26: “Longevity, What Makes a Difference?” – Dr. Mariellen Reiber, a licensed clinical psychologist with a private practice in Hanford, will touch on the behaviors that help lead to a long, healthy life.
- Thursday, Oct. 27: “Healthy Mouth, Healthy Life” – Dr. Daryl Libby, a Hanford dentist, will explain how a healthy mouth can affect our entire body.
Healthy refreshments will be served.
In addition to the physician presentations, a “Healthy Meals Cooking Demonstration”, presented by Mark Anthony, an internationally known chef, is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Oct. 19 at the BEC Building. Registration is required for the cooking demo.
