Lemoore got to the semi-finals thanks to its amazing season-ending winning streak, the latest victory coming in the Central Section Division II opener against Kingsburg Wednesday night in the Tigers’ home pool. The Tigers beat the Vikings 10-7 behind an impressive performance from its goalie, Trey Pietsch, who had 18 saves in the Central Section playoff game.
The Rangers shared the WYL's championship with Hanford West. The winner of the Lemoore and Redwood match will play the winner of Wednesday's Porterville and El Diamante encounter on Saturday, Nov. 19, again at 4:30 p.m.
In the playoff win against Kingsburg, Calvin Rhoads and Cameron Olson led the Tigers in scoring with three goals each. Drew Gobby and Billy Chedester each had a pair of goals.
The Lemoore squad, in its last few weeks, blitzed the rest of the WYL, winning its final nine league games in a row to finish second in the WYL. The Tigers ended the regular season with a thrilling 15-7 victory over Hanford.
