The three wins included a 2-0 decision over the Lemoore junior varsity team – which participated in the tourney – to win the Bronze Division championship.
Lemoore is coming off a solid year where it finished second in the West Yosemite League with an impressive 7-3-2 record. Overall the Tigers were 15-6-2. Redwood blitzed the league, compiling a 12-0 mark.
The Tigers even made it to the semi-finals of the Division II championships, losing to Redwood. The Rangers lost in the finals 1-0 to Madera South.
Lemoore opened the season on Nov. 22 with a 3-1 loss to Edison in Tiger Stadium. A Nov. 29 trip to Exeter resulted in a 2-1 loss to the Monarchs. In the Lady Tiger Tournament opener on Friday, Lemoore forced Arvin into a shootout, but ended up losing 4-2 in goals scored.
In that Arvin game Lemoore played well, but lost on penalty kicks. “Losing to Arvin was a big disappointment to put it mildly,” said Tiger Coach Janet Brown. “We had 21 shots on goal and were tied 1-1 at the end of regulation. That put us automatically in the Bronze Division,” she added.
The only goal against Arvin was scored by Taylor Paramo.
The Tigers also defeated Sierra Pacific 2-0, a contest in which Tiger players had 19 shots on goal. Chloe Chedester scored twice for the Tigers. Sierra Hamilton and Lysaundra Aquino had assists.
On Saturday, the Tigers beat Coalinga 7-0. Sami and Chloe Chester each had two goals while Samantha Bustamante and Brianna Navarrete scored a goal apiece.
In the contest against the Lemoore junior varsity squad, Chloe Chedester and Paris Flores each scored.
