“Our ‘Return to Work’ program was one of the main reasons we won the award,” says Sonni Burrell, workers’ compensation manager. “This program allows us to be proactive in accommodating disabilities and keeping employees engaged in their work while they’re recovering.”
Engagement is key, Burrell says. Studies show that employees who are not engaged have higher rates of depression and higher rates of not returning to work.
“This award highlights why our organization is one of the best places to work,” says Wayne Ferch, network president and CEO. “I commend all of those involved for their commitment to excellence for our work family.”
The team received the award in December and is featured in Risk and Insurance magazine. The article may be accessed at http://www.riskandinsurance.com/caring-for-the-caregivers/
