Lemoore’s varsity boys’ basketball team fell a little bit farther behind in the West Yosemite League race after dropping a disappointing 61-60 decision to Hanford West Wednesday night. The Tigers have five league games left to get back into the race and earn a spot in the Central Section playoffs.

The loss is particularly painful considering that the Tigers crushed the Huskies 65-38 in their first meeting on Dec. 13 at Hanford West High School.

The Lemoore boys fell to 2-5 in the WYL and 7-16 overall.

The Lemoore girls are attempting to keep pace, but Monday night’s previously postponed game against Hanford, and the final score, didn’t help. The Bullpup ladies crushed the Tigers 56-23 to take control of the top spot in the WYL.

Lemoore rebounded Wednesday night with a relatively easy 45-21 victory over Hanford West. With the win, Lemoore improved to 3-3 in league play and are 9-9 overall.

The Bullpups have a 7-0 record in the league while Redwood has sole control of second place with a 5-2 mark.
