A unit from Kings County also responded to the fire.
Lemoore Fire Chief John Gibson said the fire may have started in the garage area and then spread to the kitchen, causing visible and serious damage. However, Gibson told The Leader that the cause of the fire and the amount of damage will be determined by an investigation, culminating in an official report.
Gibson said his department got the call at about 11:15 a.m. and quickly responded. Gibson also said there no injuries as firefighters soon managed to get the fire under control. Occupants of the home quickly left the burning building.
Firefighters were beginning to mop up at about 12:30 a.m. as many Lemoore Volunteers continued to keep an eye on the smoldering garage.
“It’s important for the homeowner to quickly evacuate the building,” said Gibson. “We don’t want to turn a fire fighting scene into a rescue.”
