Lemoore’s bats came alive in the Bakersfield Invitational Softball Tournament held this past weekend as the Tigers scored a total of 51 runs in six games to finish 4-2 in the prestigious tourney. The run barrage began on Thursday when the Tigers rolled over Rosamond High School 10-2, and then later that same day, they pounded out 14 hits in an 11-1 victory against Highland High School.

On Friday, the Tigers crushed Delano 9-1 before finally dropping a 6-3 decision to Ridgeview in a night game.

On Saturday, Lemoore crushed Bakersfield 13-0, but dropped a close 10-7 contest to Atascadero. 

In the loss to Atascadero, Tiger pitching gave up 11 hits as Atascadero came from behind in the sixth inning to beat the Tigers 10-7. The Tigers were up 6-4, but could only score once in their half of the seventh. Sierra Phelps, Madison Wallace, Susannah Campos, Megan Ambriz, and Megan VanAllen each had a hit for Lemoore.

Lemoore easily beat Bakersfield, putting together nine hits and 13 runs to run its season record to 8-4. Wallace, Campos, and Ambriz each had two hits. 

The Tigers had a non-league contest at Liberty High School on Friday before opening West Yosemite League play on March 22 with a game at Hanford West.
