Lemoore’s defense will have to be on its best behavior Friday when it travels to Fresno for a pre-season contest at San Joaquin Memorial. The Panthers poured it on the Washington Union Panthers Friday night in a 47-14 victory.

“They’re a very disciplined team,” said Lemoore’s coach, Rene Asencio, who notched his first varsity win as a Tiger. “We’re going to have to play our best against Memorial.”

The Tigers’ defense was indeed impressive against Paso Robles. The Bearcats score came on a Tiger offensive play. The Bearcats scored on an offensive fumble in the Tigers’ end zone. The points came late in the game.

“Our defense played really well,” said the first-year coach.

The offense had its moments too, including a pair of impressive plays from receiver Jack Foote, who caught a 65-yard pass and then hauled in a Kristian Gaytan pass in the end zone for Lemoore’s second score and a 12-0 lead.

Lemoore missed the two-point conversion.

Lemoore’s first TD came late in the first quarter on a Damion Charleston 20-yard sweep for the first touchdown of the season. Lemoore missed the point after try.
