Lemoore’s varsity boys’ and girls’ basketball teams were winners Tuesday night, picking up a pair of West Yosemite League victories over Hanford West. Both squads prepare for upcoming holiday tournament action in Fresno and Clovis.

The boys’ squad, while trailing much of the first half Tuesday night, turned things around in the second half in their Event Center, and came away with a relatively easy 56-38 win.

The Tigers play Wednesday (Dec. 13) in Fresno’s annual Holiday Invitational Tournament. Lemoore improved to 4-1 on the season.

The girls came from behind in the fourth quarter to beat the Huskies 55-22. They scored 21 fourth-quarter points to win their WYL opener. Lemoore will travel to Visalia to take on Mission Oak on Tuesday and then on Dec. 27 will take part in the annual Buchanan Kiwanis New Year’s Eve Classic.

Lemoore has struggled early on, compiling a 2-6 record.
