Lemoore improved to 10-5-1 overall and are 2-2-1 in the West Yosemite League as it takes on Hanford in the first-round finale on Wednesday (Jan. 17) at Neighbor Field.
On Friday, the Tigers were seeking to end a 17-game losing streak to the Rangers and almost pulled it off. Lemoore tied the Rangers 2-2 in regulation, scoring once in the first half and again in the second. But Redwood prevailed in the overtime periods to continue its success against Lemoore.
On Tuesday, Jan. 9, the Tigers went two overtimes only to wind up in a 1-1 tie with El Diamante, and on Thursday Golden West prevailed 3-0.
The Rangers continue to lead the WYL with a perfect 5-0 record while Lemoore a tie for fourth with El Diamante.
The Lemoore boys' team, at 2-2 in the WYL, will host the Bullpups on Wednesday. The Tigers are coming off a 3-0 loss to the Rangers in Visalia.
