David joined his brothers John and Clarence, and sister Evelyn. He attended Island Elementary School and Lemoore High School, graduating in 1962. Two years after graduating, he began working for the U.S. Postal Service at the Lemoore Post Office and worked there until he retired in 2005, with 41 years of service. 

David met his future wife, Fatima Furtado at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Riverdale, and it was love at first sight. They were married in 1974 and enjoyed a full life of travel and family, visiting Canada, Hawaii, the Azores Islands many times, among other destinations. 

David is survived by his loving wife, Fatima, brother Clarence Lima and his wife LaVerne, nephews Dan Veiga, Steven Lima, Rick Veiga, Michael Lima, Jerry Lima and Paul Furtado, and nieces Linda Lima Keaton, Cindy Rocha Vaz, Gina Pinkham and Lisa Bogdanovich, and many cousins and great-nephews and nieces.

Visitation will be at Phipps-Dale Funeral Chapel on Thursday, February 1 from 4:00-7:00 P.M., Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00 P.M.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Lemoore on Friday, February 2 at 1:00 PM with burial to follow at Lemoore Cemetery.
