Fortunately for the Tigers, the hitting that’s been winning them games all season, returned Thursday in Lemoore as they crushed Mt. Whitney 13-4.
Lemoore was expected to play Rancho High School today in first-round tourney action.
Susannah Campos was emblematic of her team’s Thursday afternoon resurgence, pounding out three hits in four at-bats, driving home a run and scoring twice.
She got a lot of help. Sierra Phelps, Kyleigh Allen, Madison Wallace, and Shelly Jobe, each of whom had two hits.
The Tigers led 10-0 before the Pioneers finally scored in the fifth. Lemoore put three more runs across in the sixth to account for the difference.
Ashtyn Lucas earned the victory, striking out seven and allowing just six hits. She also walked six batters.
