The ladies game was a slugfest, to say the least, as the Tigers’ bats came alive with 14 hits against Blazer pitching. Shelly Jobe led the way with four hits in five trips to the plate. She also drove in two runs. Kyleigh Allen, Sierra Phelps, Megan Van Allen, and Susannah Campos each connected twice.
But it wasn’t enough as Golden West had 16 hits to bring home 19 runs. Bree Wilson led the Blazers with five hits in six attempts.
Pitching pretty much fell apart for both teams, but Tomi Ford suffered the loss, pitching a little over two innings in relief of starting hurler Ashtyn Lucas.
The Lady Tigers fell to 1-3 in league play and 9-11 overall.
Alex Sanchez led the Tigers’ five-hit attack with two of those hits. He drove in four runs. Jack Foote had a pair of hits too, but it wasn’t enough to turn the tide as Lemoore fell to 0-3 in the WYL and 2-15 overall.
The baseball team’s next game is at Mt. Whitney on Tuesday (April 17) while the girls have a home game against Hanford Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
