Assemblymember Rudy Salas got some good news, and from a high-powered force in Kings County. Salas, Kings County’s incumbent assemblyman, picked up the endorsement of Kings County Sheriff Dave Robinson.

Salas is running against Hanford’s Justin Mendes in the 32nd Assembly District and was thought by many to be a formidable challenger in 2018. Mendes is a member of the Hanford City Council and served as district director for Congressman David Valadao before he took a leave of absence to challenge Salas.

"Rudy Salas has proven he will stand up for the Valley,” said Robinson.  “Assemblyman Salas brought millions of dollars for safety improvements in Kings County.  I support Rudy because he actively works to make our neighborhoods safer for our families and our kids and I know I can count on him to be there for us."

Salas said he was pleased to have earned Robinson’s support. “I am honored by Sheriff Robinson's continued support,” he said.  "Sheriff Robinson and I have successfully partnered to make the Valley a safer place to live for our families. I look forward to continuing our work together in making a difference."

Sheriff Dave Robinson joins a long list of top law enforcement to endorse Salas.  They include the CA Police Chiefs Association (CPCA), the California Association of Highway Patrolmen (CAHP), the Peace Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), the Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs (ALADS), the California Correctional Peace Officers Association (CCPOA) and the CA Statewide Law Enforcement Association (CSLEA).
