I am a second-generation educator with 25 years of experience the last ten years leading the largest high school in Kings County. I graduated from Hanford High School where my father was a teacher. I graduated from Fresno State and in addition to my master’s in education and credentials have completed both the Principals and Superintendents Academies. I have been a district SARB director and Special Education Administrator. I have planned and implemented a 20-million-dollar budget that includes coordinating both State and Federal funding programs. I currently lead 200 employees and almost 2000 students.

I want to improve social and emotional health programs in our schools and increase law enforcement supports on campuses. Additionally, I want to increase access to high quality and technologically advanced Vocational Education Programs and increase expertise and training for all staff to ensure they have the skills necessary to educate our students, so they are prepared to be successful after graduation.

The largest issues for education is access to innovative Vocational education, School Safety and training for staff. As superintendent of Schools, I would increase social and emotional support to schools, train the teachers and staff to identify social and emotional health issues and provide the appropriate staff and support to get students the help they need. I would help coordinate vocational education resources within the county to ensure students had access to the best training based on the needs of the industries in our county.
I plan to coordinate resources, create social and emotional curriculum and help districts meet state requirements to ensure all districts have the means necessary to serve all students.
If elected I plan to build capacity in educators, administrators and support staff to ensure students receive quality instruction.
As the superintendent, I would build capacity in employees using a comprehensive and collaborative professional development plan created with partnership with the districts. I will improve communication by being accessible, visible and available to all educators in our county. I will build an avenue using social media to give everyone the ability to communicate directly with the county office of education leadership.
