Lemoore’s varsity football team got some exceptional performances in its disappointing 49-41 loss at Sanger High School Friday night, but they simply weren’t enough as the Tigers fell to 2-2 for the season as the team continues its road woes.

The Tigers hit the road again this Friday with a matchup at Tulare Union High School where The Tribe takes a perfect 3-0 record into the game against the Tigers. Lemoore has one more road game – against Redwood on Sept. 28 – before returning to the friendly confines of Tiger Stadium for a West Yosemite League game against El Diamante.

Once again, the Tigers got exceptional performances from its offensive stars, including quarterback Justin Holaday, who accumulated impressive stats, all in a losing effort. The talented junior completed 18 of 25 passes for 334 yards and four touchdowns. His favorite target Friday night was Brandon Hargrove, a senior running back and receiver who caught six passes for 147 yards.

Hargrove also led the Tigers in rushing with 136 yards on 15 carries and all-purpose yards with 330 yards, including a 47-yard kickoff return.

Once again defensive standout William Kloster turned in a solid effort with 16 tackles.
