The Central Valley Mini Stock (CVMS) season finale will take place at Lemoore Raceway on Sunday, Oct. 14, and to help end the season with a little more excitement, the Mod Lites, a particular class of Dwarf Cards, will appear in Lemoore.

The Mod Lites are similar to the Dwarf Cars in engine rules. They boast an eastern style modified body and compete at many tracks in the area, including Hanford, Bakersfield, and Kern County. The division serves as a motivation tool to encourage younger drivers onto the bigger tracks.

Track officials say It's been an exciting season for the Mini Stocks, chocked full of great racing. Seven races into the season, Greg Baronian leads the pack, winning just about everything thrown at him, and unless he has any significant issues, Baronian will win the 2018 championship. He enters Sunday's show with 513 points, and his closest competitor is 65 points behind him.

Dan Myrick and Ryan Doglione are battling for second place, and after his latest Top 5 finish, Myrick leads by just four points. Both drivers are hoping to score their first feature wins with the series to close out the season. Jeff Durant is on a pace to finish fourth in the standings, leading Rod Baronian by 26 points.

The Mini Stocks have been holding steady on car count and putting on a good show each week. CVMS leadership is hard at work planning out next season, which includes trying to keep the rules in line with the area tracks and adding dates at other tracks for the 2019 schedule. Other drivers to watch for on Sunday include Scott Glenn, Brent Myrick, Darren Wilson, Ben Davis, Dick Adams, Chuck Doglione and 2017 champion Danny Myrick.

Both the Mini Stocks and Mod Lites will run a program will run time trials on the clock, along with trophy dashes, heat races, semi mains, and if necessary, the main events. For further information, go to www.centralvalleyministocks.com.
