Due to an unexpected air-conditioning repair and replacement, the Hanford Branch Library will adjust the hours it will be open to the public beginning Friday, May 3, 2019, and is expected to end on or before Wednesday, May 15, 2019.

Adjusted hours for Hanford Branch Library

“It is a priority for the County to maintain public access to the Hanford Branch Library during repair and replacement of the air-conditioning system. We are attempting to adjust hours to accommodate the community as much as possible while repairs are being conducted” said Natalie R. Rencher, Library Director of the Kings County Library. As a result, hours are being adjusted to avoid the hotter late afternoon and evening hours.

During the Hanford Branch Library’s temporary adjusted hours, books on hold will be available for pickup and the book drop will be available to return items.  Materials can also be returned to any of the other branch libraries, which will continue to operate under their normal schedule. The Kings County Library website at www.kingscountylibrary.org is available on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week basis.

The Library is always concerned with the safety and well-being of the public and staff.  Should temperatures reach uncomfortable levels within the building during this time, the Hanford Branch Library is subject to close if needed.  We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we repair our system.
