Lemoore’s varsity boys’ basketball team fell to 3-9 on the season after dropping an 82-59 decision to visiting Hanford West Thursday night in the school’s event center. In far-off Madera, the Lemoore ladies fell behind late in the fourth quarter to lose at Madera High School 47-46 to fall to 4-3.

The Huskies had plenty to celebrate. The 8-3 team, a former West Yosemite League opponent, hasn’t had much luck against the Tigers, losing the last 12 of 13 games.

The Huskies took an early 20-9 first-quarter lead, and despite giving up 18 points to the Tigers in the second period, they managed to hold on to a significant lead to win by 23.

Against Madera, the Lemoore ladies led at the half 22-18 but Madera outscored the Tigers 18-14 in the final period to edge the stubborn Tigers.
