And after performing well at its annual trip to the Morro Bay CIT on Jan. 17-18, the Tigers travel to Visalia on Jan. 22 for a WYL encounter with Golden West. At Morro Bay, a trio of Tigers – Wayne Joint, Jesse Gayton, and Will Kloster – made it to the CIT finals to earn the Tigers a respectable showing.
In Lady Tigers’ action, the girls defeated El Diamante 12-0 while the JV boys won 66-13 for a clean sweep this week. Marisa Perico took top honors at the recent Mission Oaks Lady Hawk Invitational while teammate while Mariah Perico finished second and Desiree Peralta took third place in the local tournament.
Against Redwood, the Lady Tigers won 36-15 as Mariah Perico beat the No. 3 athlete in the Valley 6-4 and Mia Meno defeated her senior Ranger opponent.
On Saturday the girls attended the Born Viscous Tournament at Bakersfield’s Ridgeview High where Mariah Perico and Mia Meno took won their respective divisions. Marisa Perico finished second in her class.
