Five of the new cases contracted the disease through close contact with a confirmed case. The cause of the 14 remaining new cases is still under investigation. Of the total active cases, 17 are being treated in isolation, and all other cases have been quarantined. KCDPH has also identified seven previously identified cases that have fully recovered from the disease.
The California Department of Public Health Wednesday night reported 117,687 confirmed COVID-19 cases and 4,391 fatalities.

KCDPH is currently conducting communicable disease investigations to identify any persons who may have had close personal contact with these individuals, including any friends, family members, or health care professionals, to assess and monitor them for signs and symptoms of illness. Due to privacy laws, no specific information regarding any of the 1,187 cases can be shared with the public.
