“This is a tough time for Kings County as we report our 16th COVID related death today. Our thoughts are with their family during this tragic time,” stated Edward Hill, Director of Kings County Department of Public Health.
The KCDPH has confirmed 13 additional cases of the Novel Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID19). Of the 13 new cases, two cases are associated with the county’s two prisons. KCDPH has determined that two of the new cases contracted the disease through close contact with a confirmed case.
The exposure of the additional 11 remaining new cases is still under investigation. Of the total active cases, there are 32 cases being treated in isolation, and all other cases have been quarantined.

KCDPH is currently conducting communicable disease investigations to identify any persons who may have had close personal contact with these individuals, including any friends, family members, or health care professionals, to assess and monitor them for signs and symptoms of illness. Due to privacy laws, no specific information regarding any of the 2,104 cases can be shared with the public
