The suspect, 29-year-old, Rowdy Sharp of Hanford, had a passenger, identified as 26-year-old Allison Russell, also from Hanford. During the traffic stop, the officer discovered that Sharp held a suspended or revoked driving license. He was also suspected of being under the influence of a controlled substance. The officer performed drug recognition tests and field sobriety tests on Sharp. He was subsequently arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.
As a result of the investigation, police found illegal narcotics on both Sharp and Russell. Approximately two grams of Heroin, two grams of Methamphetamine. Xanax pills were located on Russell. Approximately two grams of Heroin, a half gram of Methamphetamine, and Xanax pills were found on Sharp. A search of the vehicle revealed additional illegal narcotics paraphernalia.
Police issued Sharp a citation for illegal drug and paraphernalia possession and then released. Russell was arrested and booked into the Kings County Jail for driving under the influence, drug, and paraphernalia possession and driving on a suspended/revoked license. Sharp’s bail was set at $30,000.
