Kings County expands COVID-19 vaccine availability. Adventist Health offers vaccines at local offices, including Lemoore

The Kings County Health Department announced that vaccine eligibility, beginning Wednesday, April 7, will be expanded to citizens 16 years and older for Pfizer vaccines and 18 years and older for both Moderna and the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Effective April 1, anyone 50 years or older may receive the vaccine, and beginning April 15, anyone over the age of 16 will be eligible to receive the vaccine.

Adventist Health also announced that it is offering the vaccine to patients at its medical offices throughout the Central Valley, including several sites in Kings County and Lemoore.

Kings Health Department officials say that occupational restrictions have been lifted to ensure all who want the vaccine can get it. “With the supply of vaccine becoming more stable, we are able to proceed ahead of the State’s strategy lifting the current restrictions in place to expand eligibility,” said Edward Hill, Director.

The State has made the necessary changes in the online scheduling system MyTurn, and those wishing to be vaccinated can visit https://covid19.ca.gov/vaccines/ to make an appointment.

For patients under 18, a parent or legal guardian must accompany the minor, provide appropriate verification, and complete the necessary documentation for the vaccine to be administered to a minor.

For the past two weeks, Adventist medical staff has been calling eligible patients, who visit Adventist Health medical offices, to inform them of the vaccine availability.

“So far, we’ve seen an overwhelming number of Adventist Health patients who are eager to receive the vaccine within our clinic setting,” says Dr. Raul Ayala, Ambulatory medical officer for Adventist Health in the Central Valley. “We’re thrilled to be a part of the solution of vaccinating as many patients as possible, so we can end this pandemic and safely return to our daily routines.”
