Parents and friends were allowed inside the arena and watched as this year’s grads accepted their diplomas by picking them off a table as their names were called. No handshakes or congratulatory hugs allowed this year due to lingering concerns about the Coronavirus, despite evidence that the COVID-19 virus may be on its last legs in California.
All the speeches – Valedictorian, Salutatorian, and Class President speech – along with the welcoming speech by Principal Jamison Whiting and the Keynote speech from Leslie Daniel were previously recorded and played on a screen.
The ceremony took only 45 minutes to complete, at which time the graduates and guests exited the building to watch a short fireworks show just east of the arena.
