Upon arrival, the deputy located a 2006 Acura sedan. A subject named Jorge Retamoza was asleep in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. A records check revealed the Acura was a stolen vehicle out of Kern County.
The deputy arrested Retamoza, and a search of the Acura uncovered 30.7 grams of methamphetamine and a loaded Taurus 9mm handgun. Both items were located in the glove box.
Officials determined that Retamoza had had a prior felony conviction and was prohibited from possessing a firearm or ammunition.
Retamoza was booked into the Kings County Jail for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of a firearm with a controlled substance, possessing a stolen vehicle and transportation of a controlled substance for sale. Jorge’s bail was set at $195,000.00.
