Lemoore’s girls beat Reedley on June 5, 5-4, to advance to their matchup with Templeton. The Lady Tigers are 5-14 overall, while the Eagles are 17-4.
The boys, hoping to improve on their victory over Exeter, will hit the road for a second-round matchup with Taft High School, a team that finished the regular season campaign at 17-5-1. The Tiger boys finished the regular season at 16-11.
The Tigers, trailing 5-3 in the fifth inning against Exeter, saw their bats come alive, scoring five times to win their playoff opener 10-5. Lemoore pitching blanked the Monarchs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings to ensure their first playoff victory.
In Lemoore's basketball action, Lemoore’s boys’ team, which put together a 7-5 season, and defeated San Luis Obispo in the first round of the playoffs, was forced to forfeit its second playoff game against Roosevelt due to a positive COVID-19 test.
The Lemoore Ladies ended their season at St. Joseph High in a 79-63 loss to finish the 5-5. this week’s loss came on the heels of a playoff opener the Lady Tigers won 72-57 at Tulare Union.
