With its 17-10 record, Lemoore came into Tuesday’s contest ranked No. 3 in the Division II rankings. Frontier’s narrow win means its next match is against No. 11 Hoover.
The Tigers completed a successful season, finishing at 17-10 overall and 7-3 in the West Yosemite League.
Frontier took the early lead, outscoring Lemoore 32-26 in the first half. Lemoore came on strong in the third quarter, outscoring the Titans 14-11 and 15-14 in the fourth. But in the end, it wasn’t quite enough as Lemoore lost by just two points.
Other WYL teams to move on included No. 1 Mt. Whitney (a team LHS beat in the league’s second round), a winner over Righetti 63-43, and No. 12 Hanford, a 53-50 winner over Stockdale High School.
Redwood High School lost 60-58 to Edison High School.
