Season 2022 at The Kings Players in Hanford is up and running, and the first production on the list is The Money in Uncle George’s Suitcase – a comedy by Pat Cook and directed by Cyndie Maxwell. The Kings Players are planning 11 performances in February and March, including matinees Sunday at 2 p.m.

Uncle George invites his whole family for a weekend at his rustic cabin. Just as they are about to leave – having ingested who-knows-what for dinner – he reveals there is $500,000 hidden somewhere on the property. Well, perhaps they are not in such a rush to leave after all.

What follows is a crazy combination of pettiness and greed! But who will find the money? The Kings Players shows this season are appropriate for the entire family.

Kings Players is excited to welcome two brand new thespians: Pini Etchegoin will be playing George’s sister Mamie Jo, somewhat of a bossy little thing and a bit sarcastic, and Chelsey, played by Kelsie Nichols, is a young girl dragged unwillingly to the cabin by her parents and knows it will be “sooooo” boring.

Both Pini and Kelsie claim to be having a wonderful time and have taken to their characters wonderfully.

Kris Szovati from Visalia is an accomplished singer and actor but new to Kings Players. She plays the other sarcastic sister Margaret. Abby Mattos and Evelyn Swift are back to Kings Players after performing as youngsters.

The play also features folks you have seen on our stage before, actors like Stephan DesJardins, Mike Barker, and Joseph Katz as Uncle George.

Temple Theatre now has “no steps” access for walkers and wheelchairs as well as two wheelchair spaces if needed.

Season Tickets are available for $50 (4 shows) until March 20. The theater is located at 514 Visalia St., Hanford.
