“I am proud to earn the endorsement of the California Latino Legislative Caucus,” said Sigala.
The new 33rd District includes Tulare, Kings, and Fresno Counties. Sigala is challenging Republican incumbent Devon Mathis. Sigala, a Democrat, criticized Mathis for failing to serve the district, “It’s time our District elects a leader who delivers real results for our schools, working families, communities, and farms.”
Redistricting placed Mathis in one of the most competitive districts in California. The 33rd District has a 54% Latino majority with party registration split evenly between Democrats and Republicans. “Our District is ready for a change in leadership. I will serve all of our communities and am ready to go to Sacramento and deliver” added Sigala.
