For starters, four-year varsity wrestler Dylan McDonald signed his letter of intent to attend Minot State University in front of family and friends in the Lemoore Event Center. At the same time, undoubtedly, Lemoore’s top female wrestler ever, Mia Meno, will attend Arizona’s Ottawa University in the fall.
Plenty of family and friends, including coaches and teachers, attended the noon signings on Wednesday, the sight of many athletic scholarship signings.
Both wrestlers are repeat entrants in the annual California State Wrestling Championships and have won West Yosemite League championships. McDonald is a four-year varsity and twice the team’s captain. He wrestled at 120 pounds and had a 38-12 senior year record. His career record is 113-44.
McDonald was also a member of the 2020-22 West Yosemite League First Team All-League and played football for three years.
With a career record of 99-37, Meno was a West Yosemite finalist and took top honors at the “Last Girls Standing Tournament at Lemoore High School. She was a finalist at the Reno Tournament of Champions, a San Joaquin Valley qualifier, and a CIF state qualifier.
