Despite the absence of a U.S. Navy flyover, a long time-honored tradition – Lemoore’s High School’s graduation ceremony appeared to have gone off without a hitch. The graduates met near the outdoor basketball courts, where they gussied up, heard remarks from the principal, and then marched into Tiger Stadium.

Promptly at about 8 p.m., the large contingent of purple and gold-clad graduates, most of whom had attended Lemoore High School for all four years, marched proudly into the traditional site of Lemoore’s graduate ceremonies – Tiger Stadium.

And, of course, they parched into the traditional “Pomp and Circumstance.” Awaiting them was a stadium packed with brothers and sisters, moms and dads, relatives, and friends.

The school’s NJROTC color guard and sword team welcomed the graduates. The graduates heard speeches from their principal and several student speakers, including Valedictorian Greg Payton and Salutatorians Bibian Santos Paz and Nicholas Quassy.

Former LHS principal Dr. Guadalupe Solis (now a board member) and fellow board member John Drough handed out the diplomas.

The traditional event was followed by the traditional fireworks that lit up the night sky above Tiger Stadium.
