Tiger volleyball team comes from behind to defeat El Diamante Miners in season opener in Lemoore

Lemoore’s varsity girls’ volleyball team got its 2022 season underway on a positive note Tuesday when it defeated visiting El Diamante 3-2 after erasing a two-game deficit, winning the final three sets 24-9, 26-24, and 17-15 in the clincher.

The visiting Miners looked strong in the first two games, dispatching the Tigers 25-17 and 25-20.

Ava Cunningham led the way for the Tigers with 11 kills, and Dayanara Meza chipped in with ten kills.

Lemoore is 1-0 on the season.

The Lady Tigers will hop on the bus Tuesday, Aug. 23, for a non-league match at Hanford West before spending the weekend at the annual Morro Bay Tournament.
