With the loss, the top-ranked Tigers, completed an impressive season, winning 21 games against just seven losses while completing a perfect 10-0 record in the West Yosemite League under the tutelage of its head coach, Joel Sligh.

The Lemoore ladies were 5-5 in the WYL and 15-13 overall.

In the boys’  loss to Sunnyside, things were a bit tense as tempers got out of control, technical fouls, and a fight. Four police officers arrived to ensure the game remained under control.

The top-ranked Tigers suffered probably the worst cold spell of its season as Sunnyside managed to outlast the Tigers on Lemoore’s home court. Despite the Tigers’ cold streak, they managed to tie the game at 42, but the Tigers scored a total of just 16 points in the second half. Sunnyside poured in 28 points. 

Sunnyside’s 17 points in the final quarter ended Lemoore’s hope of a Central Section title.

Chambers tied fellow Tiger Demel Turner in scoring as both Tigers each scored 10 points.

In the girls’ game in Porterville, Jezza Tamayo scored 15 points in the girls’ 53-35 loss to Porterville Thursday night. Jaelynn Proby chipped in with 13 points while Amber Cole contributed 10 points.
