The event, sponsored by the Kings County Farm Bureau, provided local youngsters from as far away as Kettleman City, Corcoran, and Lemoore to learn various aspects of the industry which is central to Kings County final success.
Many of the students had little or no experience with animal husbandries and farm equipment, like tractors and crop-dusting helicopters. That was soon remedied as a dozen stations were provided to help educate young people about the ways of farm life.
Petting stations, where the local youngsters could interact with animals, animals were one of the more popular stops on the field trip.
And when the tour was all over, students were treated to ice cream.
