School officials say this year’s commencement marked a significant milestone for the college as it celebrated the highest number of grads, degrees, and certificates confirmed in its history.
The college announced that with close to 800 grads and over 1,500 degrees and certificates awarded, the local college continues to grow its reputation in education.
According to West Hills Lemoore College President James Preston, one of the highlights was Leo Gonzalez, a TikTok influencer who is said to have over 2 million followers. Gonzalez was the honorary speaker and graduated from West Hills in 2020.
“Leo has launched the beginning of a great career with his popular viral content and impressive following of 2.8 million subscribers on TikTok,” said West Hills College President James Preston prior to Thursday's ceremony. “He completed his college degree online with us while creating unique POV-Style comedy videos that have made him a social media star.”
A record number of 800 graduates also came with a record number of family members and friends who filled the large Golden Eagle Arena. The ceremony was also streamed online on the school’s Facebook page.
