The RTIP is a program that proposes improvement projects over a five-year period between fiscal years 2014-15 through 2019. State and federal funds are used to pay for the transportation projects. Projects from the RTIP are then selected for inclusion in the State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP), which is adopted by the California Transportation Commission.
Local transportation officials are encouraging members of the public to attend the meeting at 4:30 p.m. in the Kings County Board Chambers located in the Kings County Government Center, 1400 W. Lacey Blvd. in Hanford.
Projects include $419,000 bicycle and pedestrian facilities in Lemoore as well as improvements to the interchange at 12th Avenue in Hanford.
