The Eagles next challenge comes Wednesday when they travel to a Merced for another CVC game.
Trailing Taft 46-36 midway through the second half, Lemoore’s Tati Powell got the ball rolling with a basket to cut the deficit to eight points. Another WHCL Lemoore score and then a layup from Lasiter at the nine minute mark cut the gap to just 46-42.
Taft scored on a basket and two free throws before Joselyn Salinas connected on a key three-point basket to get the Eagles back in the contest at 50-45. Powell followed with another basket that caromed off the backboard to cut the margin to 50-47.
Parker then began her assault by hauling in an offensive rebound and scoring and she followed with an assist to Neryda Padilla to bring the Eagles to within a point at 52-51. Parker gave WHCL the lead with a bank shot. She was fouled on the play, but handed Lemoore its first lead of the half at 53-52 with 5:30 left to play.
After an exchange of baskets Vicki Monia took a rebound the length of the court and scored for a 57-54 advantage, one they would not surrender. Lasiter scored again and Parker made it 61-55 with two minutes left and cemented the win with three straight free throws to end the contest.
