Patients in Lemoore will soon be able to take advantage of a free health care shuttle, offered through Adventist Health/Community Care. The shuttle was rolled out on Jan. 15, 2014, for patients needing transportation to their appointments at Hanford and Home Garden clinics or to other health care services in those communities.

From Jan. 15 to Nov. 30, the shuttle made 4,904 trips; averaging 493 trips since May. The service will now expand to Lemoore starting Jan. 5, 2015.

“The shuttle service gave me back my independence,” says one Hanford rider. “My friend also needed a ride to and from his appointments, and [they] made it happen! The drivers are friendly and make me feel important.”

Adventist Health launched the shuttle because some patients were missing or canceling appointments due to transportation issues, hindering their ability to improve their health. The eight-passenger, wheelchair-accessible vans are operated by Central Valley Health Transport and service addresses in Hanford, Armona and now Lemoore. They operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Shuttle rides are arranged at the time the patient schedules a clinic appointment. More information about the clinics and shuttle is available by calling toll-free 888-443-2273 or visiting www.AHCommunityCare.com.
