Lemoore’s varsity boys’ basketball team managed just five points in the final quarter and ended up on the wrong side of a 53-51 loss to visiting Hanford on Wednesday night in the Lemoore Event Center. Lemoore’s high scorer was Kaden Lopes, who tossed in 13 points. Kobe Green scored 11 in the game while Andrew Mora contributed 10 points in the narrow loss to the Bullpups. Lemoore’s varsity boys’ basketball team is 1-2 on the short season after suffering a 68-69 loss at Hanford’s Sierra Pacific on Wednesday, Nov. 11. The Tigers’ next action comes on Dec. 6 at Central Valley Christian High School in a 6:30 p.m. start. The Tigers will spend the night at Selma High School on Thursday, Dec. 7. Local athletic history was made this month in girls’ wrestling when Lemoore freshman Rianna Bernal, on June 3 and 4, became the first Lemoore female wrestling to win in Greco wrestling at Fresno’s Selland Arena on June 3 and 4. Her title sealed the deal for her “Triple Crown” award. Bernal is the first Lemoore High School girl to do this as a freshman. Keep reading...
